Stock market timing:-

Stock market operates in 3 normal session

1)       Normal session:

                    It starts from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm, it’s a normal session in which all people can trade. The transaction happens on Bilateral Matching system.

2)       Pre-opening session:

   

  It’s 15 minutes before the normal session. It uses a multilateral order matching system, to decide the opening value of share .which will the opening price of the share for a normal session transaction.(Buying price = selling price) will be the opening price. When a big amount of seller & buyer agrees to the price then it can be taken as opening price. 

3)       Post-closing session:

              Before the post-closing session, first the closing price of a share are been calculated. When the stock exchange closes down at 3:30 pm the price at which it's been traded lastly is not the actual closing price of stock.

 

How is the closing price is calculated?                      

            The closing price of any share is calculated by the volume-weighted average method i.e the volume-weighted average of the share transacted between 3:00 pm to 3:00 pm i.e of the last 30 minutes.
We get the closing price within 2 or 3 minutes i.e by 3:32 or 3;33 pm.

Now you can transact

In Post-closing session i.e 3:40 to 4:00 pm

Aftermarket order/operation(AMO):

 If anyone is not able to transaction in a normal session period then he can transact in AMO though the market is close you can just put the order of all your buy or sell of stock.
